The Acropolis of Solomeo is the celebrated home of the renowned School of Arts and Crafts. It was founded with the forward-thinking goal of restoring dignity and allure to ancient professions of skilled craftsmanship and instill in a new generation a trust and intrigue in artisanship. Students are taught by accomplished masters in Pattern Making and Women’s Tailoring, Cutting and Men’s Tailoring, Mending, Knitwear, Horticulture, Landscaping and Masonry.
Inspired by ancient Renaissance workshops specialized in a trade, the School aims to show young generations the value of hands-on creativity and to help students appreciate artisan handcrafts as works of art that are coveted all over the world.
Teaching age-old techniques and the theory of individual disciplines, the quality and transfer of expertise is enriched. The School’s benevolent pledge to giving aspiring artisans the opportunity to acquire old, yet modern vocations is rivaled only by its willingness to create job incentives and scholarships.
